Nigeria international Oluwatosin Demehin has officially signed for Galatasaray Women’s FC, just days after parting ways with Stade de Reims in France, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 22-year-old defender made her move on a free transfer, adding significant strength to Galatasaray’s defensive line as they aim for success in both domestic and European competitions.
Demehin spent two successful seasons at Reims, where she made 26 league appearances.
Her solid performances helped the French secure a sixth-place finish in her first season and an impressive fourth-place finish in her second year, earning the team a spot in the UEFA Women’s Champions League play-offs.
The Nigerian’s debut for Galatasaray came swiftly, featuring in their UEFA Women’s Champions League clash against Czech giants Slavia Prague on Thursday night.
Although she initially started on the bench, Demehin was introduced in the 37th minute after Turkish midfielder Ecem Cümert sustained an injury.
Galatasaray took a commanding 2-0 lead with goals from Andrea Stašková, but the Turkish champions conceded two late goals, resulting in a 2-2 draw at the Esenyurt Necmi Kadıoğlu Stadium in Istanbul.

The return leg will be played at Slavia Prague’s Fortuna Arena on September 25, with the winner advancing to the group stage of the prestigious competition.
Demehin’s arrival at Galatasaray adds further excitement, especially as her transfer follows Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen’s recent move to Galatasaray’s men’s team.
Both Nigerian stars will now be instrumental in their respective squads as Galatasaray aims to retain its men’s and women’s league titles this season.
Much like their male counterparts, Galatasaray’s women’s side secured the Turkcell Women’s Football Super League title last season and are looking to build on that success, with Demehin now playing a key role in their defensive setup.
