South African side, Stellenbosch FC, have have signed experienced Nigerian defender, Enyinnaya Kazie Godswill from Rivers United, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 25-year-old defender, previously with Kwara United and Delta Force, is versatile, capable of playing both as a right-back and a central defender.
With Rivers United, Kazie played football on the continental stage, but couldn’t win a trophy for his club side. He played 36 games on the continent for the Pride of Rivers.
Additionally, he was an important member of the Rivers United team that lifted the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League, scoring a goal and providing three assists in that campaign.
As per iDiski times, Stellenbosch have snapped up Godswill from Rivers United, and the deal is all set, pending a work permit.
Once those details are sorted, the 1.67m tall defender will fly to South Africa for his medicals, and subsequently complete the transfer.

The Cape Winelands side lost their first-choice right-back, Deano Van Rooyen, to the Orlando Pirates, and Godswill is set to compete with Kyle Jurgens, who has been filling the right-back position since the departure of their co-captain. The former Rivers United man hopes to nail down a starting berth as time passes.
He joins his fellow countryman Stanley Nwabali as another NPFL product to leave Nigeria for the South African league. Godswill was a part of the Nigerian home-based team that lost to Mexico in a friendly in 2022, alongside Nwabali.
In almost 200 career games, Godswill has a decent attacking output for a defender, scoring nine goals and providing ten assists.
