Former Brazil international Felipe Melo has sent prayers and well wishes the way of Victor Osimhen after the Nigerian striker completed a move to Galatasaray, Soccernet.ng reports.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal as a chaotic summer that saw him targeted by PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Saudi Arabia’s Al Ahli came to a dramatic close.
Having accumulated the most Süper Lig, Turkish Cup, and Turkish Super Cup in history, Galatasaray are the biggest and most successful club in the country.
Osimhen, considered the greatest signing in the club’s history, will look to help the Yellow Reds retain the league title they won last year and claim their first Europa League title.
The Nigerian forward has been flooded with heartfelt messages from fans and top football personalities since reaching an agreement with Galatasaray.

One of those who has been pleased with Osimhen’s decision to join the Istanbul giants is former Juventus and Inter Milan midfielder Melo.
Melo spent four successful years at Galatasaray during his 12-year spell in Europe and rose to become the most decorated Brazilian player in Turkish domestic competitions, winning seven cups.
The 41-year-old Fluminense star is pleased to see reigning Africa Footballer of the Year Osimhen team up with his beloved Galatasaray.
Dedicating an Instagram ‘story’ to Osimhen, Melo wrote: “God bless you in the best club in Turkey.”
Osimhen’s immediate concern will be to help Nigeria overcome the Benin Republic and Rwanda in the qualifying rounds of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
After the international break, however, the 25-year-old striker will return to Turkey where he will likely make his Super Lig debut for Galatasaray in their clash with Rizespor on September 14.
