Super Eagles-eligible striker Tolu Arokodare has once again been linked with a move away from Belgian side KRC Genk during this summer transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.
A Belgian-based reporter revealed that Turkish club Trabzonspor is making a serious push to secure the services of the Nigerian forward, having initiated contact with both Genk and Arokodare’s representatives as part of their pursuit.
In response to these reports, Soccernet.ng earlier reached out to Arokodare’s agent, who quickly downplayed the rumours.
The agent clarified that Arokodare is “definitely not interested” in a move to Trabzonspor, signalling the player’s commitment to his current club.
Meanwhile, to confirm these new reports, his agent once again told Soccernet.ng “Never! He has no dealings with Turkey”.
This suggests that the Super Eagles-eligible star is in no hurry to leave Genk, where he is just one year into his contract, which runs until 2027. Despite the ongoing transfer speculation, Arokodare remains focused on his role at the Belgian club.
The Nigerian forward has been in exceptional form, delivering 14 goals and 3 assists in 48 appearances this season, further solidifying his value to the team. With a market value of €4 million, Arokodare has quickly become a key player for Genk.
As Trabzonspor faces uncertainty over the future of Paul Onuachu, the club is actively searching for potential replacements. While they have identified former Manchester United player Wout Weghorst as a possible target, Arokodare has also emerged as a strong candidate on their shortlist.
However, with Arokodare’s firm stance on staying at Genk, Trabzonspor may have to look elsewhere to strengthen their attack.
