Soccernet.ng can exclusively report that Nigerian attacker Tolu Arokodare is not interested in moving to Trabzonspor in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Super Eagles-eligible star joined Jupiler Pro League side KRC Genk from Amiens SC at the brink of the 2023 winter transfer window for a fee of around five million euros.

Arokodare replaced Paul Onuachu, who moved from Genk to join Southampton in England. Since then, Onuachu has scored 17 goals and made five assists in 63 appearances for the Belgian side.

Trabzonspor Eyes Arokodare

With Onuachu’s future at Trabzonspor uncertain, the club is actively seeking potential replacements. Among the candidates are former Manchester United forward Wout Weghorst and Arokodare, who has caught the eye of Trabzonspor’s scouting team.

Arokodare, whose contract runs until 2027 and who boasts a market value of €4 million, has delivered an impressive performance this season, scoring 14 goals and providing 3 assists in 48 matches. These achievements have made him a standout option for the club.

Trabzonspor’s coach, Abdullah Avcı, has reportedly given his approval for the potential transfer. As the club looks to bolster its squad for the upcoming season, Arokodare’s addition could be a key move in their strategy.

Arokodare’s Interest Revealed

Soccernet.ng reached out to Arokodare’s agent to follow up on this new interest from Trabzonspor. His agent has played down the report, revealing that the Nigerian attacker is “definitely not interested” in joining the Turkish side.

This means that the Super Eagles-eligible forward is in no rush to leave Genk, having spent just one year of his contract that is set to expire in 2027.
