Tottenham Hotspur weigh up £40m offer for Nigeria-eligible 19-goal Premier League striker

Dominic Solanke scored 29 goals and provided 7 assists in 46 Championship games for Bournemouth during the 2021/2022 season.

Ange Postecoglu’s Tottenham Hotspur are considering making an official bid for Bournemouth striker, Dominic Ayodele Solanke, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old had a stunning 2023/2024 English Premier League season under Andona Iraola with Bournemouth. He ended the season with 19 goals and three assists, playing every game for the Cherries.

As per Football London, Tottenham are weighing up a potential £40m offer for the former Chelsea forward. Spurs struggled with clinicality in front of goal last season after losing Harry Kane to Bayern.

Ange Postecoglu had to rely on Son Heung-Min as his major goal outlet as Richarlison spent a huge chunk of the season injured.

However, it is believed that Bournemouth will not consider any offer below £65m as a serious one for their most prized asset.

Tottenham have only signed Archie Gray this summer, and are looking to seal a deal for number nine before the transfer window slams shut on the first day of September. A £65m bid for Solanke would be the most expensive ever made by the London-based club. Their record transfer was £62m to bring Tanguy Ndombélé from Olympique Lyonnais.

Soccernet.ng earlier reported Spurs were keeping an eye on Osimhen’s transfer saga, but talks have cooled in recent weeks as no club has been able to match the Nigerian’s £103.5m release clause.

Solanke has represented England at all levels, including making a debut for the Three Lions against Brazil in 2017 which is his only appearance for the team to date. Although he has Nigerian roots, a switch of allegiance to the Super Eagles is unlikely.
