Udinese and Nigerian forward Isaac Success have mutually agreed to terminate his contract, the Serie A club announced on Tuesday, Soccernet.ng reports.
The decision marks the end of a three-year spell for Success at the Italian club, where he contributed six goals and 17 assists in 83 appearances across all competitions.
“Udinese Calcio announces that it has reached and signed an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract with the footballer Success Isaac,” read the club’s official statement.
“Thanks to him for the years spent together and best wishes for the professional future.”
Success, who first gained prominence as the top scorer at the 2013 U17 Africa Cup of Nations with seven goals, joined Udinese from Watford in 2021.
Despite his early promise, Success found himself sidelined in Udinese’s plans this season, not featuring in any of the club’s first three competitive matches—a clear sign that he had fallen out of favour.
The Nigerian international’s departure comes as Udinese bolstered their attacking options during the summer transfer window, bringing in Lorenzo Lucca, Damián Pizarro, Iker Bravo, and Alexis Sánchez. These new signings further diminished Success’s role in the team, leading to the mutual decision to part ways.
Across 240 games playing for Udinese, Malaga, Grenada, and Watford, Success has scored 28 goals and provided 32 assists.
Success, who has represented Nigeria at various youth levels and earned four senior caps, will now seek new opportunities as he exits Udinese, where he has spent the past three seasons.
