English Premier League club Arsenal are set to test Atalanta’s resolve by submitting a €50 million plus Jakub Kiwior bid for Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, Soccernet.ng reports.
Aside from Victor Osimhen, Lookman’s future has been in the balance in recent months following his brilliant performances for Atalanta since he joined two seasons ago.
Europe took notice of the 26-year-old forward at the end of last season after he scored a hattrick for Atalanta to help them defeat Bayer Leverkusen and win the UEFA Europa League.
Since then, he has been linked with top European sides like PSG, Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
However, those talks have intensified in recent days, especially after the former Fulham man missed La Dea’s first Serie A game of the season.
Arsenal and Liverpool, who have been quite docile in the transfer market appear to be the frontrunners to acquire Lookman’s services this summer. And in a new development, per Transfer News Live, Arsenal are ready to offer Atalanta €50M and Polish defender Jakub Kiwior for Ademola Lookman.
Kiwior is currently valued at €30 million on Transfermarket. In addition to the €50 million cash bid, that would be €80 million. This is even above Atalanta’s €70 million valuation of Lookman.
Nonetheless, nothing is official yet. The transfer market closes in eight days, so any club that wants to get Lookman would have to move fast.
