Super Eagles star, Victor Boniface, has broken silence after being slammed with a one-match ban and €25,000 fine after being found guilty of unsportsmanlike conduct during his team’s recent Super Cup match against VfB Stuttgart, Soccernet.ng reports.

The German Football Association (DFB) revealed the decision on Wednesday after conducting an investigation into an incident that occurred right after the match ended.

Following this, the former Union SG forward reacted on his social media page to the sanction by telling his contacts not to bill him for the next three months after being fined approximately 44 million naira.

“If you bill me for the next three months I fit block you. let’s all be guided” the 2023-24 Bundesliga Rookie of the Year wrote.

The controversy centers on an incident where Boniface was accused of making an obscene gesture—raising his middle finger—towards Stuttgart players during post-match celebrations.

Although Referee Tobias Stieler, who officiated the match, did not witness the gesture, Stuttgart players claimed that Boniface committed the act, leading to heightened tensions on the field.

Despite the absence of TV footage or solid proof, the German Football Association (DFB) launched an investigation based on these accusations.

Boniface and his club, Leverkusen, have since accepted the DFB’s ruling, which includes both a suspension and a fine, making the decision final and legally binding.
