Ademola Lookman to miss Atalanta’s first Serie A game vs Lecce amid PSG links

Ademola Lookman scored a hattrick during Atalanta’s 3-nil victory over Bayer Leverkusen during 2023-24 Europa League final

Atalanta will be without one of their key players for their Serie A opener against Lecce, as Ademola Lookman is set to miss the match amidst growing speculation of a move to Paris Saint-Germain, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigerian forward, who was a standout performer last season, has become the subject of intense transfer speculation, with rumours linking him to the French giants.

The potential absence of the former Leicester City player from the highly anticipated season opener has only added fuel to these rumours.

According to reports circulating in the Italian media, particularly from Tutto Napoli and Sky Sports Italy, Lookman has reportedly requested not to be included in Atalanta’s first game.

This development comes as PSG has made contact with Lookman’s camp, spurred by his impressive hat-trick in the 2023-24 UEFA Europa League final.

The Super Eagles star is said to be keen on a move to Paris this summer, further intensifying speculation about his future. His absence from Atalanta’s squad tomorrow raises further questions about a potential transfer to the Ligue 1 powerhouses.

In a related development, PSG are also continuing their pursuit of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. If successful, both Lookman and Osimhen could find themselves reunited on the pitch, mirroring their partnership in the Nigerian national team.
