Eze wasted no time making his mark in the match, slotting home a well-placed shot in the fourth minute to hand Crystal Palace an early lead.

The move began with a blocked pass by Odin Bailey, but the ball kindly fell to Eze, who capitalised on the opportunity with a low drive past goalkeeper Corey Addai.

Despite Palace dominating possession, the match remained competitive, with both teams creating chances that could have altered the scoreline.

While the hosts pushed to extend their lead, Stockport managed to keep the contest lively with a few promising opportunities.

Both Eze and Osayi-Samuel share similar roots as Nigerians born in England, which likely contributes to the bond between them, as reflected in Osayi-Samuel’s admiration for Eze’s performance.
