Super Eagles defender Alexander Djiku has shared a video of himself playing tennis with Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku, who is also his teammate at Fenerbahce, Soccernet.ng reports.
Most Super Eagles players are returning to training after enjoying their holidays for the past three weeks. Some of them have resumed at their clubs to prepare for the new season, while others have started working with personal fitness trainers.
Osayi-Samuel is one of the stars who has resumed training, and on tuesday, he shared a video of himself not on the football pitch, but on the tennis court. The 26-year-old played a game of tennis with his Fenerbahce teammate Djiku at the club’s facility.
Both players are already looking to return to shape ahead of Fenerbahce’s pre-season which begins on saturday with a game against Austrian club Admira. Then, they play Hajduk Split and Strasbourg in their next two games.
The former Turkish champions have to get back in shape quickly because they will play in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers at the end of July. Also, they will be looking to win the Super Lig title again after the disappointment of finishing second last season.
Osayi-Samuel may not be part of it though, as he has been linked with a transfer this summer, with the Premier League touted as a potential destination. Nonetheless, his main focus currently is getting back in shape for pre-season.
