Versatile Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, will join Sean Dyche’s Everton if Belgian midfielder, Amadou Onana moves on from the club, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 27-year-old’s contract at the King Power Stadium came to an end after spending seven years at the club and has been linked with quite a number of clubs as they’re keen to have the former Genk man on their books.
Sky Sports and TalkSPORT journalist, Dan Bardell has suggested that the Nigerian midfielder will be able to join the Toffees if Onana departs the Goodison Park. The Belgian midfielder has been linked with Barcelona and Manchester United.
“From a financial perspective, it would be good business, signing him on a free transfer. Ndidi is a midfield destroyer. I think if Onana was sold and he came in they could shape the squad better in other positions with the finances and that would be positive business. He’s a good player but things have maybe gone a bit stale at Leicester for him. A few years ago everyone wanted him and he’s been part of a team that was consistently in the top six of the Premier League for seasons. He’s shown that in the right system, he can be a good player and I could see him suiting Sean Dyche’s set-up,“ Bardell said in quotes revealed by Goodison News.
The Toffees could demand up to £50m for Onana’s services. Ndidi has also been linked with Sevilla, Galatasaray, Aston Villa, Barcelona and Trabzonspor, meaning he could move elsewhere should Everton stall in making an official move.
Sean Dyche’s team also have another midfielder ready, should Ndidi decide to join another club. The Toffees are willing to give more minutes to newly signed English youngster, the 21-year-old Timothy Emeka Iroegbunam.
