Plymouth Argyle have signed Muhamed Tijani on loan from Slavia Prague until the end of the season, with an option to buy, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 23-year-old Nigerian, who will turn 24 later this month, joined Slavia Prague last summer from Banik Ostrava, a top Czech club where he had been since he was 18.
Tijani had successful loan spells at Třinec, Karvina, and Taborsko, scoring 13 goals in 33 games for Taborsko in the 2021/22 season.
In the 2022/23 season, Tijani broke into Ostrava’s first team, making 25 appearances.
After his move to Slavia Prague for around £1m in 2023, he played 19 games and scored four goals, including two in the UEFA Europa League.
Argyle Head Coach Wayne Rooney expressed his excitement about Tijani’s arrival:
“Muhamed joining further strengthens our forward line and he will bring different attributes to the squad.
“He is big, athletic, and can run in behind, but is equally as good at holding the ball up and bringing other players into play.
“He has played and scored in the Europa League so comes with a good pedigree but is also young and keen to improve. We are really looking forward to working with him.”
Plymouth Argyle play in the EFL Championship and narrowly avoided relegation last season after finishing 21st on the 24-team table.
