Edoardo Bove for Michael Kayode: AS Roma and Fiorentina eye swap deal

AS Roma are considering a move for Fiorentina right-back Michael Kayode, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 20-year-old is now a potential target for the Italian club as they look to replace Rick Karsdorp, who has been excluded from their preseason training camp.

In recent days, Fiorentina has shown interest in Roma’s midfielder Edoardo Bove as they seek to strengthen their squad. Bove’s future at Roma appears uncertain, with his agent actively seeking new opportunities for him.

According to Leggo via Mondo Calcio, Roma and Fiorentina, who have a strong working relationship, are exploring a potential swap deal involving Bove and Kayode. Kayode is in a similar situation at Fiorentina, where his playing time is limited due to the presence of established players like Dodo and Cristiano Biraghi.

The Italian youth international is known for his speed and versatility as a right-back, though he can also play on the left if needed. His addition could be beneficial for Roma, who are in search of new full-backs.

Roma’s manager Daniele De Rossi has expressed a need for reinforcements in these positions.

Kayode began his youth career at Juventus, staying there for seven years before moving to Serie D club Gozzano in 2020.

His successful stint with Gozzano, where he scored two goals and provided two assists in 34 matches, led to his promotion to Serie C.

He joined Fiorentina in 2021, where he contributed to the team’s success in the Coppa Italia Primavera and the Supercoppa Italiana Primavera.

Kayode made his Serie A debut on August 19, 2024, in a 4-1 win over Genoa.

By the end of the season, he had become a regular in Fiorentina’s first team, with his performances attracting interest from clubs across Europe.
