Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has revealed that his best goal of the just-concluded Bundesliga season was his equalizer for Bayer Leverkusen in their week 13 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund, Soccernet.ng reports.
Boniface enjoyed an impressive debut season with German side Bayer Leverkusen after his €20.5 million transfer from Belgian club Royale Union SG.
The 24-year-old Super Eagles star registered 21 goals and ten assists in 34 appearance for Die Werkself. His brilliance was key to Bayer Leverkusen winning their first-ever Bundesliga title, the German Cup, and their second-place finish in the Europa League.
His performances ensured that he won the Rookie of the Season award in the Bundesliga, as he scored 14 goals in 23 games.
However, the 24-year-old has revealed that of his 14 Bundesliga goals last season, the 79th-minute goal against Borussia Dortmund was his best. Boniface just simply tapped the ball into the net after getting on the end of a square ball from Patrik Schick.
Boniface will be looking to continue with his brilliant form next season when Bayer Leverkusen will be looking to defend their title. But for now, the issue on the front burner is the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers when he would likely lead the line for the Super Eagles.
