Report: Al Ittihad entice Ademola Lookman with bumper ₦17 billion per year deal

Lookman could join the likes of Karim Benzea and Ngolo Kante at Al Ittihad

Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad have officially submitted a bid to Atalanta for Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman, Soccernet.ng reports.

Lookman had an impressive campaign with Atalanta last season, registering 17 goals and ten assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

His brilliance was key in Atalanta’s fourth-place finish the the Italian Serie A and their UEFA Europa League triumph, as Lookman bagged a hattrick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.

Following his impressive performances, Lookman has emerged as a transfer target for top clubs in Europe like Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Manchester United.

However, the former Everton man is not only wanted in Europe. Recall that Soccernet.ng reported that Saudi-based side Al Ittihad were interested in Lookman. Now, in a new development according to Rudy Galetti, Al Ittihad have opened negotiations.

They have tabled a bid of €30 million to Atalanta and plan to place Lookman on a salary of €10.5 million (₦17 billion) per year.

However, Atalanta have not made a stance yet. But it is unlikely that La Dea will accept Al Ittihad’s offer because they want €60 million for the Nigerian forward.

Moreover, Lookman appears to only be interested in a transfer to the Premier League, and if a top English club can meet a valuation, he will be eager to go there.
