Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has been nominated for the Europa League goal of the season alongside national teammate Ademola Lookman and eight others, Soccernet.ng reports.
Boniface had an impressive debut campaign with Bayer Leverkusen. The 24-year-old played an important role for the club in all the competitions he featured in. Boniface registered 14 goals and eight assists in 23 Bundesliga appearances for Die Werkself.
The Super Eagles star was also effective on the continent, as he registered five goals and one assist in eight UEFA Europa League appearances. His brilliance was key in Bayer Leverkusen’s run to the final, but he could not help them clinch the title, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Atalanta.
Nonetheless, despite Bayer Leverkusen’s loss to Atalanta in the final of the UEFA Europa League, Boniface’s brilliance did not go unnoticed.
The former Royale Union SG star has been nominated for the Goal of the Season award. His goal for Bayer Leverkusen in their 5-1 win against was nominated alongside nine others.
Boniface was not the only Super Eagles player that was nominated. Lookman was also nominated for his second goal against Leverkusen in the final.
