Leicester City and Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has revealed he is open to playing away from the King Power next season, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 27-year-old was an integral member of the Leicester City squad as the Foxes regained top-flight status by winning the EFL Championships.
Ndidi’s contract expires in June, and Leicester boss, Enzo Maresca revealed that the club will not be holding contract talks until the end of the season.
Soccernet.ng earlier reported that Barcelona, Fenerbahçe, Galatasaray, Sevilla, Tottenham Hotspur Newcastle, West Ham, and Aston Villa have expressed interest in signing the player as a free agent in the coming weeks.
Leicester City are also reported in keeping the Nigerian at the club beyond this summer, but talks are yet to ensue. The Nigerian midfielder has also made it clear that his next club will be preferably a top-six Premier League team. Outside of that, the former Genk man eyes a move away from England.
The Super Eagles midfielder is pleased to be in the English Premier League after their relegation was confirmed on the final matchday of last season.
“It is good to be back to the Premier League after being relegated and struggling back to EPL is something we don’t want to go back to again. I think morale is high, expectation is high, we have to ensure we do not return to the Championship. It’s a tough place to play,” the versatile midfielder told Complete Sports.
While he has his eyes set on a move, Ndidi respects his place with The Foxes as he’s still under a contract with them until June
