Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas could attempt to sign Nigeria striker Akor Adams from French Ligue 1 side Montpellier in the summer, Soccernet.ng reports.
Adams has had a decent campaign for Montpellier since he joined the club from Norwegian club Lillestrom last summer. The 24-year-old striker had a decent start to the season, scoring seven goals in his first nine appearances, but he tailed off after that. However, he returned to the scoresheet last week, when they defeated Toulouse.
With just two games left before the end of the season, Adams will be looking to improve on his goal returns next season. However, he may not get the opportunity to do so.
According to a report from Kartal Record, Besiktas are monitoring Adams and could attempt to sign him in the summer.
Montpellier signed Adams for €4.5 million, and his value has soared to €12 million according to Transfermarkt. And if Besiktas can provide a good offer, Montpellier may be tempted to sell.
Still, it may be difficult for Besiktas to afford that kind of fee because Turkish clubs are not as rich as clubs in the top five leagues. Nonetheless, Besiktas could table an offer for a season-long loan deal, with the promise of regular playing time as bait.
