Nottingham Forest unwilling to sell Super Eagles star despite exit links

English Premier League high-flyers Nottingham Forest are unwilling to sell Super Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi this month, despite speculations linking him with a transfer to West Ham, Soccernet.ng reports.

Awoniyi has struggled for playing time at Nottingham Forest this season due to Chris Woods uptrend in form. The 33-year-old striker has produced 12 goals and one assist in 20 Premier League appearances for the Tricky Trees this season. Unfortunately for Awoniyi, he has failed to impress with the few chances he has had.

Due to his lack of game time, there have been special that Awoniyi could leave the Tricky Trees soon. West Ham have been linked with the 27-year-old, but nothing concrete has emerged yet.

Now, according to a new report, Nottingham do not seem to be interested in letting Awoniyi leave the club unless they get a big fee. The club can afford to take this stance, as Awoniyi still has two years left on his current contract.

Moreover, Nottingham Forest will be wary of letting a player as talented as Awoniyi leave due to the quality he can provide when he is fit and in form. The transfer could eventually haunt them if Wood loses form and they start struggling more.
