Raphael Onyedika: Galatasaray set to lose out as Everton, Nottingham Forest join race for Club Brugge star

Galatasaray will face opposition from Premier League clubs in the summer when they make a move to sign Club Brugge's Nigerian star Raphael Onyedika, Soccernet.ng understands.

Onyedika is only in his second season at Club Brugge after snubbing AC Milan to join from Danish giants FC Midtjylland in 2022 for ten million euros.

The 22-year-old central midfielder is a key figure for the Blue-Blacks, featuring in 79 games across all competitions, netting three goals and two assists.

Galatasaray have been monitoring the FC Ebedei academy product and looked likely to pounce this summer.

But transfer permutations were altered in recent days after Onyedika scored two excellent goals in Club Brugge's fine 3-1 victory over rivals Anderlecht.

With Onyedika showing expertise in striking the ball from a long distance, the interest of Premier League clubs has suddenly been directed in his direction.

According to Cumhuriyet, Everton, Crystal Palace, and Nottingham Forest are ready to go head-to-head to fight for Onyedika's signature.

The Premier League is often a dream destination for top Nigerian stars, and Onyedika would likely favour a move to England over a switch to Turkey.

Club Brugge are expected to demand not less than fifteen million euros from any interested clubs for their Nigerian import.

While the 18-time Belgian champions are open to letting Onyedika leave this year, they are not desperate to sell as he is under contract at Club Brugge until the end of the 2026-2027 season.

On the international stage, Onyedika was a member of the Super Eagles squad to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria finished as runners-up to hosts Cote d'Ivoire.

The young midfielder made one appearance at the tournament, featuring off the bench in a group game against Guinea-Bissau.

NB: Where would be the perfect destination for Onyedika: the Premier League or the Turkish League? Leave your comments below.
