PSG’s lucrative offer to Victor Osimhen: A move to pressure Chelsea into panic

The recent pursuit of Victor Osimhen’s signature by Paris Saint-Germain has sparked the suggestion that Chelsea FC is being placed under pressure to make a significant bid to sign the Nigerian attacker, Soccernet.ng reports.

The transfer saga surrounding Osimhen’s move away from the Stade Armando Diego Maradona Stadium is heating up, with both PSG and Chelsea vying for his signature.

Osimhen who has earlier labeled Didier Drogba as his role model in his career path has further solidify a potential move to join the Blues who are vying sign a striker.

Meanwhile, the Parc Des Princes outfits seems to be making significant strides in their pursuit, reportedly one step away from securing the Nigerian striker’s services.

Napoli, on the other hand, seems open to negotiation, considering the inclusion of PSG players such as Kang-in Lee, Carlos Soler, Lucas Berlado or Marco Asensio in a potential deal to lower Osimhen’s €120m release clause.

While PSG is offering an attractive four-year deal, Osimhen reportedly prefers a move to the Premier League, where the London side has shown interest.

However, Chelsea’s hesitation to take concrete steps in acquiring Osimhen’s services could tilt the scales in PSG’s favour considering a potential violation of Financial Fair Play rules.

The reports from Il Mattino hint at a strategy to pressure Chelsea into action, suggesting that unless the Stamford bridge outfits do something—selling their players and relaunch their efforts—in a bid to top the race to sign the player.
