Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers provided an assist for Rangers in their dramatic 3-3 draw against Celtic at the Ibrox Stadium, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nigeria striker Dessers was in the starting eleven for Rangers when they welcomed close rivals Celtic to Ibrox for the third installment of the Old Firm Derby. The Gers were second place, but they had a game in hand, and needed at least a draw to keep their championship hopes alive.
Unfortunately for Rangers, they fell two goals behind after goals from Daizen Maeda and Matt O’Riley in the first 34 minutes. Celtics took the lead into the break, but in the second half, Rangers woke up, with Dessers helping the charge.
James Tavernier scored from the penalty spot in the 55th minute. Then, two minutes later, Dessers scored, but the goal was ruled out after VAR confirmed that there was a foul in the build-up.

It seemed like Celtic would run out with the victory, but Rangers had a good finish. Dessers set up Abdallah Sima for Rangers’ second. But Adam Idah scored the third for Celtic in the 88th minute to restore their lead.
Nevertheless, Rabbi Matondo scored the crucial equalizer in the third minute of added time to ensure it ended 3-3. Dessers played the entire game an had a decent performance. He failed to get a shot on target, but his work rate was brilliant. As it stands, if Rangers win their game in hand against Dundee, they will ascend to the top of the Scottish Premiership.
