Head Coach Bankole Olowookere has unveiled his selections for the upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifying encounter against Burkina Faso, with 25 promising players earning call-ups to the Flamingos camp, Soccernet.ng reports.
Comprising the squad are four goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards, forming a well-rounded team capable of competing in all areas of the pitch.
Key players in the squad include Harmony Chidi, who scored an impressive five goals in the 12-0 thrashing, along with Ramota Kareem and Shakirat Moshood, who each contributed a brace to the victory.
The upcoming fixture against Burkina Faso holds significant importance for the Flamingos as they aim to secure a berth in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup finals, set to be held in the Dominican Republic later this year.
The first leg of the third-round fixture is scheduled to take place at the Stade 4 August in Ouagadougou on Sunday, 12th May, with the return leg slated for the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Saturday, 18th May.
With the Flamingos eager to build on their past success and qualify for the prestigious tournament once again, all eyes will be on the talented squad as they prepare to face Burkina Faso in this crucial qualifying encounter.
