Super Eagles and Fulham midfielder, Alex Chuka Iwobi, has revealed his favourite Nigerian music artiste in the latest Would You Rather episode, Soccernet.ng reports.
Iwobi, 27, has been in fine form since his return from the AFCON 2023 outing with Nigeria, scoring against Manchester United at the death in Old Trafford to give Marco Silva his first win at the Theatre of Dreams.
Off the pitch, the former Arsenal man is also a rapper. He released a track a few days ago to throw a dig at the fans who harshly criticized his performance at the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast, not considering that he played in an unfamiliar position.
Speaking on the latest episode of the Would You Rather podcast, the former Everton midfielder revealed that Wizkid is his favourite musician, as he brings a different groove than what the other artists put out.
“I prefer Nigerian music to English and yeah, Wizkid is my favourite Nigerian artist. I just feel him more than Burna and to be honest, I have always been a big fan of Wizkid,” the 27-year-old said.
Wizkid, also known as Starboy or BigWiz is a global Afrobeat crooner and a Grammy award winner for his recorded Brown Skin Girl song with Beyoncé
Iwobi’s late winner against Manchester United won the Fulham February Goal of the Month award. He swept Calvin Bassey, Rodrigo Muniz, Callum Osmand, Lemar Gordon, and Georgia Heasman aside to win the award.
