Francisca Ordega and Gabrielle Onguéné netted the decisive goals for WFC CSKA Moscow to lead the club to a fine 2-1 away win at Zvezda Perm in their Superliga Women tie on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Veteran Cameroon forward Onguéné netted the opener for the Moscovites in the 17th minute, her first league goal of the season.
The 35-year-old Cameroon international scored 15 goals in 27 league appearances last term as WFC CSKA Moscow finished as runners-up to FK Zenit St. Petersburg.
Super Falcons forward Ordega smashed home CSKA Moscow’s second goal of the afternoon ten minutes into the second half inside the Stadion Zvezda in Perm.
It is Ordega’s third goal in three league appearances this season, which shoots her to the top of the league’s goalscorer chart in the Russian top flight.
It is also the first time since 2018, when Ordega was on the books of NWSL club Washington Spirit, that she has scored in three consecutive games.
Belarus star Anastasia Shlapakova reduced the deficit for Zvezda Perm just past the hour mark. Still, there was no stopping WFC CSKA Moscow from claiming their third consecutive win in the three-week-old league season.
The two-time league winners sit atop the Superliga Women’s table with nine maximum points and a plus-nine goal difference.
Last season, Ordega scored nine goals in 22 league games for the capital city club – the most the 30-year-old has managed in a single campaign.
The former Levante and Atletico Madrid star was also a part of the CSKA Moscow side that lifted the Russian Women’s Cup in 2022 and 2023.
