Nigeria-eligible midfielder Tochi Chukwuani has signed a long-term transfer to Austrian Bundesliga club Sturm Graz, Soccernet.ng reports.
Chukwuani has spent the last 18 months of his career at Danish Superligaen club Lyngby BK, and he has registered 48 appearances, with four goals and two assists to his name.
However, before that, the 20-year-old started his career in Nordsjaelland. He started as a youth player and eventually got promoted to the senior team.
This season, Chukwuani has registered three goals and two assists in 25 appearances for Lyngby, helping them to eighth place on the league table.
However, he is already on his way out of the club. This is as Austrian side Sturm Graz have announced that Chukwuani has sealed a four-year transfer to the club. Nonetheless, the 20-year-old midfielder will not join the club until the end of the season in June. Sturm Graz have not revealed the fee for the transfer, but Chukwuani is valued at €1.2 million.
Chukwuani is quite versatile. Although his primary position is central midfield, he can also operate as a defensive midfielder and an attacking midfielder.
The youngster was born to Nigerian parents in Denmark. As such, he is eligible for both countries. However, he currently plays for the Danish youth teams.
Nonetheless, he can still switch to Nigeria because he has not played for the senior team.
