Leicester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho has recalled with fondness his contribution to Nigeria's last victory over Mali, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Super Eagles secured their sixth-ever triumph over Les Aigles with a slim 1-0 friendly win inside the Stade Robert Diochon in Rouen, France, on 27 May 2016.
Alex Iwobi, Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa, and Odion Ighalo had laboured for over an hour without a goal for the Super Eagles squad coached by Salisu Yusuf.
However, Iheanacho replaced Iwobi in the 74th minute, and three minutes later, the Leicester City forward found space and time in the box to slot home what proved to be the winner.
Nigeria will trade tackles again with the Malians later today (Tuesday, March 26) in Morocco, with Iheanacho in the Nigerian squad.
In anticipation of the encounter, a Twitter user posted a video of Iheanacho's winning goal against Les Eagles nearly eight years ago.
The clip brought back good memories for the 27-year-old, who responded with a saying that suggested he is proud to have been long involved with pulling the strings for the Super Eagles.
“E don tee wey we do dey manya manya,” Iheanacho wrote.

Iheanacho won the penalty that led to the opening goal as Nigeria defeated eternal rivals Ghana 2-1 in Marrakech, Morocco, four days ago.
Since making his international debut in 2015, Iheanacho has 13 goals in 47 appearances for the Super Eagles.
