Ademola Lookman was one of Nigeria’s best players in Ivory Coast, but former Leeds coach Jesse Marsch has some funny memories of him in his early days
Former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch has named Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman as one of the players who stunk in training under his watch, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman was arguably one of the best players in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. He scored three goals and registered one assist to help the Super Eagles finish second in the tournament.
The Nigerian star is currently enjoying a decent season with Atalanta, registering seven goals and three assists in 23 games across all competitions. Lookman is currently one of Gian Pero Gasperini’s trusted lieutenants.
However, it has not always been this good. Lookman was a journeyman until his move to Atalanta two years ago. The 26-year-old attacker played at Everton, Fulham, Leicester City, and RB Leipzig before moving to Atalanta.
During one of his stints at RB Leipzig, Lookman was coached by American Marsch. In a recent interview on CBS Sports Golazo, Marsch revealed that Lookman was one of the few players he coached who stunk in training.

Marsch has been without a coaching job since he left Leeds United in February last year.
