Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has reacted to reports linking him with a move away from Chippa United, Soccernet.ng reports.
Nwabali became one of the most talked about Nigerian stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after a string of impressive performances.
The 27-year-old goalie kept four clean sheets and conceded only four goals in seven games to help Nigeria reach the final of the tournament.
Following his excellent showings, the former Lobi Stars GK was reported to be the subject of a transfer interest from Belgian side, Union Saint-Gilloise.
South African giants Kaizer Chiefs were also said to be mulling over a move for Nwabali.
However, the Nigerian goalkeeper has returned to his base in South Africa, although he did not feature as Chippa United defeated NC Pros 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 clash.
And when asked at the Nedbank Cup last 16 draw in Randburg about his potential move away from Chippa United, Nwabali responded that he is yet to receive an official offer from any club.
“I only see offers online,” he said, as per SNL24.
“To be honest, some of my friends send me screenshots to say, ‘hey bro, this offer is coming’ but to be honest, I haven’t seen an offer on my table.
“When sometimes there are rumours, I wish that they can all come to pass, but I haven’t seen any offer.”
Nwakali was honoured by President Bola Tinubu with a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) award, and he also received a traditional title in Rivers State before leaving Nigeria last week.
