Sporting Lagos secured back-to-back wins for the first time ever in the Nigeria Professional Football League after they defeated Bendel Insurance at home last weekend.
Sporting Lagos fell to a 2-0 defeat to Gombe United at the Pantami Stadium in Gombe after securing two wins on the bounce at home, Soccernet.ng reports.

It was the home side who broke the deadlock in the additional minutes of the first half. A well-worked free-kick by the host saw Balogun get on the end of it, allowing them to go into the break with the lead.
On the hour mark, Christian Nwoke made a double save to keep Sporting Lagos in the game as Gombe piled the pressure on, but he didn't hold on for long. A well-struck shot from Taiye got under the arms of the 23-year-old as Gombe bagged all three points to move into 19th position on the league table.

Sporting Lagos have now won six games, drawn six games and lost nine in the NPFL, and are currently 16th on the league table, with just a point above the relegation spots.
