The Napoli striker will be available for the Super Eagles when they square up against Bafana Bafana on Wednesday
Nigeria were handed a boost ahead of their semi-final game against South Africa as Victor Osimhen trained with the rest of the squad.
The Super Eagles flew to Bouake on Monday ahead of Wednesday’s fixture, but the reigning African Player of the Year stayed behind in Abidjan with members of the medical team.
“Members of the team traveled from Abidjan to Bouake today via a 10pm Air Cote D’Ivoire flight. Osimhen did not however make the trip as a result of an abdominal discomfort,” part of a statement from the NFF read.
However, Osimhen returned to regular training on Tuesday after a short period of rehabilitation. Nigeria’s official Twitter page confirmed his inclusion, posting a set of images of their latest session in ahead of the crunch tie against Bafana Bafana.
“Super Eagles Camp Update: Victor Osimhen has been declared fit and available for selection in the semi-final clash against South Africa on Wednesday. He has joined the team in Bouake and has trained with the squad today,” caption of the tweet read.

The Napoli star has started all of the Super Eagles’ five Africa Cup of Nations matches, scoring and assisting once, but was subbed off in stoppage time of their 1-0 win over Angola in the quarter-finals.
Winner of the encounter between Nigeria and South Africa will square up against the winner between Congo DR and hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final.
The Super Eagles – who have ruled Africa on three occasions last won the prestigious diadem when South Africa hosted the continent in 2013.
