The youngster has attracted some top clubs in Europe, but he chose to move to Nice instead
French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice have completed the signing of 18-year-old Nigerian striker Victor Orakpo to a three-year deal, Soccernet.ng reports.
Orakpo was scouted during an international competition hosted by Bayern Munich in October 2022. The then 16-year-old striker won the MVP award after helping his side win the competition.
Following Orakpo’s impressive performance in the competition, top clubs like AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Tottenham, and Newcastle United started monitoring the VOE Foundation product.
However, he chose to move to Ligue 1 club Nice. The youngster has been on trial at Nice for the last few weeks, but the club has decided to finalize the deal. The Eagles confirmed Orakpo’s signing via a post on their social media page.

According to Foot Mercato, Orakpo signed a three-and-a-half-year contract for €1.3 million. However, he will not play for the senior team yet. He will start with the reserves, and his performance will determine when he gets promoted to the senior team.
Orakpo is not the only Nigerian at Nice. The Eagles also have the services of Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi. Orakpo could learn a lot from Moffi as they play in the same position.
