Ahmed Abdullahi represented the Flying Eagles of Nigeria during the 2023 Youth Africa Cup of Nations tournament
Flying Eagles forward, Ahmed Abdullahi, as well as Nigeria U-23 forward, Goodluck Igbokwe are in line to face Royal Excelsior Virton owned by N’golo Kante, Soccernet.ng reports.
The French international and Al-Ittihad midfielder completed the takeover bid of the Belgian National Division side in June, which makes him the sole owner of the club.
The club participates in Belgian National Division 1 from 2023–24 after relegation from Challenger Pro League in 2022–23, and in the same league contends with Abdulahi’s Jong Gent.
Meanwhile, Virton, currently sitting in the 14th place of the league standings will be facing Jong Gent in February where Abdullahi and Igbokwe is expected to play a key role in their clubs victory.
This season the Flying Eagles forward has scored 13 goals in 15 appearances for the Gent-based side, while Igbokwe has notched 4 goals in 14 appearances for the club, making a good impression of themselves.
Kante’s Virton seems to be struggling to get good results in their last few matches, losing two games consecutively, even with the Frenchman’s take over.
The Frenchman recently made a visit to his club, which was hoped that that team players would pick one or two things from their owner and emulate it on the pitch for a desired result.
