Super Eagles secure all three points in their match day two clash against 2023 Africa Cup of Nations host
The Super Eagles of Nigeria underwent their third training session at the Ecole National de La Police following their matchday two clash against Côte d’Ivoire in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, as reported by Soccernet.ng.
In preparation for the final group-stage clash against Guinea-Bissau, Soccernet.ng observed the Super Eagles’ training, noting that some players trained separately.
During the subsequent press conference, Royale Antwerp defensive midfielder Alhassan Yusuf was ruled out of the Guinea-Bissau clash, despite being spotted juggling separately in an effort to expedite his recovery.
Zaidu Saniusi, earlier seen with an arm sling pouch, and William Troost-Ekong, the goal-scorer against Ivory Coast, were also seen training separately, raising concerns among Super Eagles fans about the potential absence of key players, especially Troost-Ekong, due to injury.
Media interview was restricted during the training session, preventing journalists from obtaining information about the players’ fitness ahead of the crucial match.
But based on observations by Soccernet.ng, Troost-Ekong, Yusuf, and Sanusi trained separately, suggesting they could be available for selection but may start from the bench.

In the event of Troost-Ekong’s absence, Kenneth Omeruo might captain the side, with Bruno Onyemaechi expected to replace Sanusi, or Calvin Bassey introduced again.
Despite the injury concerns, Victor Osimhen appeared ready for the clash, training with the group as they aim to secure all three points against Guinea-Bissau tomorrow.
