A late goal from Adams Olamilekan drew Remo Stars level with Sporting Lagos in the Naija Super 8 final, but they lost 4-2 on penalties.
Nigeria Professional Football League leaders, Remo-Stars, celebrated the Christmas season in style, as they hit the streets to give back to the community and their fans, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Naija Super 8 finalists have enjoyed a great start to the NPFL 24 season, winning ten games and drawing one, and are on course to win their first-ever league trophy.
Situated in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, Nigeria, the club have built a solid fanbase and a great connection with the locals, and in celebration of Christmas, decided to give back to the community who have always supported them through thick and thin.
The players, led by coach Daniel Ogunmodede, distributed food to the children on the streets and the roadside artisans, putting a smile on their grateful faces.
“This is the festive period, we want to show love to our fans and community for supporting us throughout the years. We wish them a merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance,” club striker, Olamilekan Adams said.

At the start of the season, the coach mentioned that he wanted his team to win the league after only just missing out on the trophy last season to Finidi George’s Enyimba F.C.
Remo Stars travel to Owerri on Thursday to face Heartland F.C. in their final clash of the year and will hope to secure another away win.
