Iwobi has been brilliant in recent weeks, and he continued that run against Nottingham Forest
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi scored his first Premier League brace to help Fulham seal a 5-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, Soccernet.ng reports.
Iwobi has been a regular for Fulham recently, and coach Marco Silva still included him in his starting eleven when they welcomed the Tricky Trees.
Both teams were on the same level, as they had few chances to score. But Fulham got the breakthrough on the hour mark, and it was Iwobi who came through for them. The Super Eagles star connected well to a cross from Willian and placed a precise finish into the net from close range to make 1-0.
Four minutes later, Raul Jiminez scored the second for Fulham. The Cottagers went into the break with the lead, but they added a third courtesy of Jiminez again in the 54th minute.
Then, in the 73rd minute, Iwbo got his second and Fulham’s fourth, scoring off a cross from Harry Wilson.
Tom Cairney completed the rout for Fulham in the 86th minute after some sleek play from Andreas Pereira.
Iwobi had a superb game for Fulham. He registered three goal attempts, three clearances, and 62 touches.
Nigeria defender Ola Aina was on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes for Nottingham Forest. He would be looking to bounce back from the nightmarish performance against Fulham.
