Nigerian football legends Austin Jay Jay Okocha, John Mikel Obi, and Perpetua Nkwocha are set to grace the prestigious 2023 CAF Awards, Soccernet.ng reports
The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has invited the former internationals to add a touch of elegance to the celebration of excellence and outstanding achievements in African football.
The trio, alongside other esteemed personalities, will undoubtedly elevate the glamour of this year’s CAF Awards, promising an edition that will linger in memory.
Okocha, Mikel, and Nkwocha will join football legends like former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o, one-time Liverpool forward El Hadji Diouf, ex-Arsenal man Emmanuel Adebayor, Jonathan Pitroipa, Kalusha Bwalya, Ahmed Hassan, and Patrick Mboma, among others in making this year’s edition of the CAF Awards even more memorable.
On the sidelines of the event, a gala football match will be organised at the Marrakech Stadium on Sunday, December 10, at 4:00 p.m. local time (3:00 p.m. GMT) in honour of the victims of the earthquake.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is the favourite to clinch the coveted Men’s Player of the Year, while Asisat Oshoala aims for her sixth title in the Women’s category.
Chiamaka Nnadozie competes for the Goalkeeper of the Year accolade, while Deborah Abiodun eyes the Young Player of the Year award.
The Super Falcons, a powerhouse in African women’s football, are nominated for the National Team of the Year.
The awards winners will be announced at the CAF Awards ceremony scheduled to unfold in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday, December 11.
