Michael Olaha and Stephen Eze combined to account for five goals in Song Lam Nghe An’s thrilling 4-4 draw with Quảng Nam in Vietnam on Saturday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Former Hapoel Tel Aviv striker Olaha claimed a hat-trick, while 2018 CHAN runners-up Eze bagged a brace as the two struggling sides settled for a share of the spoils.
Both teams were without a league win after three games this season and were looking to bag the maximum points inside the 25,000-capacity Sân vận động Vinh Stadium in Vinh.
And it was Super Eagles defender Stephen Eze who drew first blood when he connected with the ball from a corner kick to head Quảng Nam into the lead in the 6th minute.
In the 22nd minute, Olaha, spotting jersey number seven, took matters into his own hands when he dribbled past two defenders and finished expertly to equalise for Song Lam Nghe An.
Four minutes later, the 26-year-old forward put the home team in front when he tapped a cross from the left flank into the net from close range.
That lead would last only until the half’s closing stages when the visitors drew level from the penalty spot.
Olaha picked up from where he left off in the first half when he restored Song Lam Nghe An’s advantage with a fierce drive two minutes into the second period.
Mai Sỹ Hoàng’s excellent curling strike four minutes later made it 4-2 and placed Song Lam Nghe An on the path to a first win in the V.League 1 this term.
However, Quảng Nam refused to concede defeat, and after Yago halved the deficit on the hour mark, Eze popped up in their hosts’ danger area to sidefoot a fine finish to make it 4-4 with the last kick of the encounter.
