Iwobi put in an outstanding performance to help Fulham win all three points
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi scored the opener for Fulham in their dramatic 3-2 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Craven Cottage on Monday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Iwobi made his 300th club appearance when Fulham welcomed Wolves. Both sides have had topsy-turvy seasons but they provided an interesting spectacle.
Iwobi scored the opener just seven minutes into the game. The Super Eagles midfielder just got on the end of a cross from Antonee Robinson and tucked in the ball from close range to put the Cottagers ahead.
However, Matheus Cunha got the equaliser for Wolves 15 minutes after Iwobi’s goal. The first half eventually ended with both teams square.
The second half sparked to life quite early, as Fulham won a penalty in the 58th minute. Former Chelsea star Willian took no chances as he buried the ball in the net to make it 2-1 to Fulham.
But that lead did not last, as Hwang Hee-Chan equalised from the spot in the 75th minute to make it 2-2. It looked like the game was going to end in a draw, but Fulham won a penalty late in the game, which Willian calmly dispatched to seal the 3-2 win for Fulham. The win takes Fulham to 14th on the table.
Meanwhile for Iwobi, he would he satisfied with his performance, as it was his first Premier goal for Fulham.
