Despite Fulham's 1-0 loss, Bassey had praise for his role model, highlighting Maguire's qualities.
“At the time I was coming through the ranks and he was one of the players I looked up to and still do. He's a quality player. Now that I'm playing on the opposite side, he plays on the opposite side, he's been giving me some advice, like any top player would,” Bassey stated.
Bassey also emphasized Maguire's impressive impact during his time at Leicester City, describing him as an ongoing source of inspiration.
He stated: “Yeah, of course. He was incredible at Leicester and still is. To do what he did for Leicester was amazing.”
