Akor just joined Montpellier in the last summer transfer window, and he impressed in his first few months
Nigeria striker Akor Adams has revealed that retired Super Eagles star John Utaka has been helpful to him since he arrived at Montpellier, Soccernet reports.
Adams joined former Ligue 1 champions Montpellier from Lillestrom during the international break. Former Nigeria striker Utaka, who helped the club win the Ligue 1 in 2012, participated in the 23-year-old's unveiling.
The retired Super Eagles striker is currently a youth coach at Montpellier, and Adams has revealed that he has a good rapport with the former Nigeria striker since he joined the club.
“He's a great guy. For me, he's a legend, he's a very top man, he has helped me a lot,” Adams said per PV Sport after Montpellier's goalless draw against Nice on Friday.
“Many times after a game, he gives me comments on my performance because he was also a striker and he has a lot of experience. For me, to have him in the club is a positive.”
Adams has been a revelation since he joined Montpellier. He currently has seven goals in 12 Ligue 1 games, and he has shown no signs of slowing down.
If Adams continues delivering the goals for Montpellier, he could get a Super Eagles call-up soon.
