Watch: Rema lights up 2023 Ballon d’Or awards with star-studded performance

Rema joined the likes of Davido, BurnaBoy—who recently performed at the World Cup and UEFA Champions League—to light the bigger stage

Nigerian sensation, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, set the stage on fire at the 2023 Ballon d’Or awards, Soccernet.ng reports.

The prestigious event, held in Paris, honored the remarkable achievements of footballers during the 2022-23 season, both at their clubs and on the national stage.

Rema, whose hit song “Calm Down” featuring Selena Gomez has captured the hearts of music lovers worldwide, delivered an electrifying performance alongside some of the world’s top football stars.

As he took the stage, Rema was seen exchanging greetings with football icons like Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland, and other prominent players in the front row.

The event also saw celebrities in attendance, vibing and singing along to Rema’s captivating performance.

Rema’s appearance at the Ballon d’Or awards adds him to the list of Nigerian artists who have graced major sporting events, including Davido’s performance at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and Burna Boy’s show at the 2022-23 Champions League final.

At just 23 years old, Rema, signed to Jonzing World, an affiliate record label of Marvin Records, has a promising future ahead, with the potential to reach even greater heights in his music career and bring home a Grammy award for Nigeria.
