The Super Eagles of Nigeria previously lost their World Cup tickets of the Black Stars of Ghana which thwarted their 2022 World Cup participation
The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Lesotho has been rescheduled from Friday, November 17, to Thursday, November 16, Soccernet.ng reports.
For yet-known reasons, Jose Peseiro’s troops will have to tackle Lesotho earlier than expected as they kickoff their World Cup qualifiers campaign.
Nigeria’s clash with the Southern African side is set to take place at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo and will commence at 5 pm Nigerian time.
Following this match, the Super Eagles will head to Kigali, where they will meet the Warriors of Zimbabwe four days later. In the same group are the Squirrels of Benin Republic, Bafana Bafana of South Africa, and the Bees of Rwanda.
The team that secures the top position in the group will earn a coveted spot at the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
It’s worth noting that Nigeria missed out on the previous edition of the global soccer tournament held in Qatar having lost their tickets to the black stars of Ghana.
