Victor Osimhen has been named among the 30 nominees for the 2023 Ballon d’Or Award following a breakthrough season with Napoli that saw him register 31 goals in all competitions

Transfer Expert Romano Fabrizio has provided the latest updates on Victor Osimhen’s contract negotiations with Napoli, Soccernet.ng reports

The 24-year-old has had an incredible year, having been recognized among the first 30 nominees for the 2023 Ballon d’Or Award following his Scudetto-winning achievement with Napoli last campaign.

He finished the season with a career-high 31 goals in all competitions, with European giants like Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal reportedly interested in signing him but it appears they were priced out considering the big price tag Napoli have placed on him.

Osimhen was also the subject of a big offer from the Middle East, with Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal reported to have sent two bids to Napoli, but the offers were rejected by the club President Aurelio De Laurentiis, who has since openly declared the Nigerian forward will not be leaving the club any time soon.

The former Lille striker has since made an impressive start to the season, scoring 3 goals from 4 games so far, with reports suggesting he is close to signing a new deal that will keep him at Naples beyond his current contract which will expire in Summer of 2025.

However, Romano has shared the latest updates that Osimhen will extend his stay with the Partenopei with a release clause valid from next summer inserted in the new deal.

Also in this negotiation which is very advanced between Napoli and Osimhen to extend the contract and sign a new deal, the current one expires in the summer of 2025, Victor Osimhen must have a release clause included, Romano shared on his YouTube channel

Let’s follow the story the feeling of the sources is that Osimhen will extend his contract at Napoli but this deal will include a release clause already valid in the summer of 2024 so let’s see the value of the release clause.

This is one of the points that the parties are discussing – Osimhen camp and Napoli. The release clause is a crucial point being discussed to reach an agreement between Osimhen and Napoli over a new contract.

This is a situation to follow in the next days and weeks and could be an important one for Victor Osimhen who is doing fantastic in Italy and also with the national group

Osimhen has brought his brilliant form to the national side, finishing the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with 10 goals.

He scored a hat trick in Nigeria’s 6-0 victory over Sao Tome and Principe in their last AFCON qualifier played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday, helping his country to finish top of the group.
