NPFL: Bendel Insurance debunk Tanimu’s move to Spanish club

NPFL side, Bendel Insurance took to their social media page to debunk the news of the transfer of their central defender.

Nigeria Premier Football League side, Bendel Insurance, has taken to their X(formerly called Twitter) page to debunk rumours of their central defender joining Spanish side, Lleida Esportiu, Soccernet.ng reports.

Rumours surfaced in the Nigerian media space recently that young Bendel Insurance central defender, Benjamin Taminu had reached an agreement to join fourth-tier Spanish side, Lleida Esportiu, but the Edo state-owned club have come out to clarify the situation, and in-fact indicate that there was nothing of such.

In a letter signed by the club’s media officer, Mr Kehinde Osagedie, it was visibly stated that the news of Taminu’s transfer is completely false and misleading and urged their fans to disregard any news of such, as they’re yet to receive any offer for the twenty-one-year-old Taminu.

According to Bendel Insurance, Benjamin Taminu remains their player and is currently training with his teammates ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup second qualifying round clash against RS Berkane on September 16.

However, it is confirmed that the young defender has been scouted by several clubs in Europe, and he might not be a Bendel Insurance player for much longer.

Taminu will stay with Bendel and continue to work on his game on the pitch while his agent deals with the negotiation aspect, for the time being.
