Terem Moffi has had an impressive start to the new French Ligue 1 season with 3 goals and 2 assists from 5 games
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi has been named among the best players in the top 5 European leagues for the round of matches played over the weekend, Soccernet.ng reports.
The 24-year-old continued his impressive start to the season with a brace in the French Ligue 1 against the defending champions Paris Saint-Germain at the weekend, taking his tally to 3 goals from 5 games this season.
Moffi scored Les Aigions’ first and third to help OGC Nice claim a big 2-3 victory at Parc de Princes last Friday night in a keenly contested encounter.
Football statistics website, Whoscored.com, has named the Nigerian forward in the team of the week in Europe’s top 5 leagues. He was listed in the forward line alongside other standout players over the weekend, such as Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski and VFB Stuggart’s Serhou Guirassy.

In the 3-4-3 formation, Moffi is on the left flank alongside two forwards, who were in scintillating form over the weekend.
Serhou Guirassy scored a remarkable hat trick to help Stuggart claim a 3-1 win at Mainz, while Robert Lewandowski registered a goal and two assists in Barcelona’s dominant 5-0 victory over Real Betis.
Moffi was awarded a rating of 9.28 out of 10, the fourth-best in the team, and only Guirassy has a perfect 10 out of 10.
The former Lorient forward will hope he can maintain the form to help Nice fight for one of the European places this season.
He will also be targeting a return to the Super Eagles squad for next month’s friendly game against Saudi Arabia, having been left out of the team that helped Nigeria beat Sao Tome and Principe in the last International break.
