Moffi put in a great performance against the Parisiens to ensure his side ran out winners on Friday
Nice coach Francesco Farioli has heaped praise on Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi after his heroics in their 3-2 victory over PSG on Friday, Soccernet reports.
Nice were the underdogs when they travelled to Parc des Princes for their Ligue 1 clas against champions PSG.
However, the Eagles gave a good account of themselves. Moffi lead the line for the Eagles, and he did it with aplomb, as he scored the opening goal for his side in the 21st minute.
PSG talisman Kylian Mbappe drew level seven minutes later, but that could only last till the 53rd minute as Moffi supplied Gaetan Laborde with a beautiful assist to put Nice in front again.
Moffi then put the icing on the cake, as he took advantage of the space in PSG’s defence after Laborde played a nice ball forward. The 24-year-old goal poacher showed his great killer instinct to send a low curler into the back of the net and make it 3-1 to Nice.
Mbappe scored in the 87th minute, but it was just a consolation, as Farioli’s lads ran out 3-2 winners at Parc des Princes.
Following his brilliant display, coach Farioli praised Moffi, stating that the Nigerian was just perfect for his style of play.
“I said it when I arrived, Terem is a player who I trust a lot because of his physicality, his skills and talent,” Farioli said per beIN Sports.
“Still, I receive a lot of questions about Moffi because people think he is not the kind of player that would fit into our system.
“However, I always insists that Moffi is a player that is very useful for us. Now, everyone can see how good he is because there are goals and other important statistics.
“Still, what is important to me is his overall performance in the game.”
Moffi now has three goals and two assists from his five Ligue 1 appearances. Nice play Monaco next week, and the former Lorient man would have to be at his best to ensure his side emerges victorious.
