Lookman was on target for Atalanta in their last Serie A fixture which they lost 3-2 to Fiorentina, and coach Gianpero Gasperini gave him a starting shirt when they played hosts to Cagliari.
Atalanta dominated the early exchanges, and they nearly got the lead after 24 minutes. But Charles De Ketalaere’s strike was ruled out for offside.
However, Lookman turned up nine minutes later, with Ademola Lookman finishing with aplomb in the box after De Ketalaere played him through on goal.
